Introduction to JointYoga
A one OR two-hour educational seminar explaining the JointYoga system for improving strength, flexibility and balance for you and your animal.

Intended Audience: Professional groups, libraries, animal groups such as kennel clubs, pet stores, horse groups, agility and rescue groups.

Speaker’s fee: Varies depending on the group and number of participants.

  • $200/hour professional groups
  • $100/hour non-professional groups
  • Free for selected charities and libraries

Basic JointYoga Certification Course
This course is open to professionals and lay people. It is suggested for everyone who intends to use the JointYoga system on a regular basis or in a professional setting.

This two-day course is held on non-consecutive days to allow for practice between sessions. Tuition does not include required text, JointYoga for Animals. Strength, Flexibility, Balance. Participants can bring their own animal on the second day of the class if they wish, or animals will be provided for practice.

Requirements: Basic animal handling skills and knowledge of safety in handling animals.

Certification: At the end of this two-day hands-on class, you’ll be certified in basic JointYoga. You’ll practice on humans and animals to become proficient in the four principles and four techniques of the JointYoga system. You’ll have hands-on guidance and individualized help in mastering the basic JointYoga system. You’ll learn how to detect problem areas in your own animal, and how to prepare and use JointYoga to improve your animal’s strength, flexibility and balance. You’ll use assessment checklists and JointYoga session logs to structure your sessions and choose the best techniques for your animal. You’ll learn how to use rhythmical breathing and PowerPictures to prepare yourself for JointYoga.

Locations: Animal Holistic Care Specialists’ Wisconsin Clinic, or by appointment internationally.

JointYoga Instructor’s Basic Certification Course
Completion of this five-day, hands-on course will give you a large quantity of field experience in JointYoga education. With guidance, you’ll be interfacing with clients at our veterinary clinic and the public. Following completion you’ll be qualified to teach the basic JointYoga certification course when you meet all required elements and demonstrate instructional skills and competence at a satisfactory level.

Taking this course does not guarantee certification although if you meet all required elements and any suggested follow-up assignments, you’ll likely become qualified to teach the basic certification course.

The JointYoga Instructor’s basic certification allows you to teach the JointYoga basic certification but does not qualify you to teach the instructor’s certification course. (Limited to 1-3 selected individuals)

Prerequisite: Basic JointYoga Certification course with a certified JointYoga instructor.

Required elements:

  1. One year of JointYoga practice and 25 written case studies of JointYoga Sessions you’ve performed
  2. A synopsis of your teaching experiences, both professional and non-professional
  3. A letter explaining why you want to become a JointYoga instructor and your future goals as a JointYoga instructor
  4. Two professional letters of recommendation from educators, veterinarians, chiropractors or equivalent professionals that you’ve worked with

Elements of the teacher’s certification 5-day module:

  1. Review of the basic certification with individualized hands-on training
  2. Instruction in teaching the basic certification course
  3. Co-teaching an actual 2-day JointYoga certification course at the end of the week
  4. You will be instructed and will present a 2-4 hour PowerPoint JointYoga introduction to a lay audience
  5. Clinical and farm call experience with Dr. Kaufman where you’ll be explaining JointYoga to clients and instructing them basic skills to use on their animals at home
  6. A review of your skills, performance, knowledge and suggested improvements/changes
  7. When you’ve completed the Instructor’s module and fulfilled all suggested improvements and changes you will be eligible for JointYoga Instructor’s certification

The instructor’s basic certification course will include all of the above elements, but will be tailored to individual needs and skill levels to give you the most support to meet your instructional goals.
