Women’s Symposium: “Success and Happiness”

EAGALA (Equine-Assisted Growth and Learning)

 Sept. 29, 2007, June 14  or  August  16 ,  2008

Why is Happiness important? Happiness researchers have found that happy people live an average of 10.7 years longer than their unhappy counterparts. Smoking is reported to reduce your lifespan by 6-9 years. It turns out that happiness is  a very serious health issue. Knowing what makes you happy, how it "feels," and how to harvest more of it could add years to your life!

We will explore what happiness and success mean to each of us personally through horse-assisted ground exercises (no riding is involved).  Non-horse women welcome!

What Past Seminar Attendees had to say:

"The horse exercises were great - eye opening, frustrating, and challenging, yet really good.  I  know that I have patterns of behavior              that play out in various situations and it was great to be in an environment where those patterns could be tested, acted out and then              reflected upon.  The stakes aren't as high as they are in a "real life" situation where there can be more of a perceived risk."

"The first group exercise really helped me see how deeply important it is for me to stay true to my core beliefs and feelings, and not just                 compromise or gloss over my feelings in the interest of completing a task and/or pleasing the rest of the group's wishes."

"The individual horse exercise was equally as powerful, in that once I gave up on trying to figure out how to put on the halter, I was                 able to really shift into my core, being connected and focused, and then it all fell into place.  What better lesson to have than that?"
